SDS* and SMR* message numbers
The SDS Common Infrastructure (SDSCI or SCI) is a set of software tools that reside on z/OS and serve multiple SDS VitalSigns products. This website explains console messages generated by the infrastructure.
Most are SDS* message numbers. SMR* message numbers concern the SDS SMF miner.
Messages are in the form:
SDSdddds
SDSMUddd (from SDS Storage Manager)
SMRdddds (from SDS SMF Miner)
d is a decimal digit
s is a severity code, as follows:
I information message
W warning message
E error message
T trace or test message
D debug or diagnostic message
SDSCI messages are classed according to the following sources:
- The SDS Common Infrastructure (SDSCI) in general
- The SDS Communication Pipe (SCP)
- SDS Console Services (SCS)
- The SDS SMF Miner (SMR)
- The SDS Storage Manager (SSM)
- SDS VSAM Services (SVS)
